'CANNON HEATH' - AHIARUHE ROAD, WAIRARAPA

This is not the original Ahiaruhe homestead, it's our house on Ahiaruhe Road which was moved from Dannevirke in 2001.

It was built by William Hartgill around 1894 and named 'Cannon Heath', presumably after something in his Somerset homeland. We are only the second family to own this huge old house. Often we think we are mad.

We have 25 acres to play with and enjoy running a few sheep for lambs and the occasional cattle beast for the freezer. We are hopeless gardeners.
